About

Our Philosophy: A Fusion of Science and Tradition
Founded in 2014, Anapea Village is a dedicated family business. Our journey is guided by the personal involvement of our founders; Maia, a sociologist, and her husband, a marketing expert. By combining academic research with strategic vision, we developed a winemaking concept rooted in deep study.
We began with extensive consultations and interviews with viticulture professors and winemaking specialists. For us, winemaking is a state of constant learning. Supported by native winegrowers in Kvareli and Sagarejo, we bridge the gap between ancestral knowledge and modern organic standards.

Our History: Revitalizing the Terroir of Kvareli
In 2013, our family took on the challenge of restoring an abandoned, exhausted plot of land in Kvareli. To revitalize the soil naturally, we established a bio-humus production plant, restoring the fertility required for premium viticulture.
We have since planted six of the most ancient and rare Kakhetian grape varieties:
Mtsvivani and Khikhvi
Kisi and Kakhuri Mtsvane (Kakhetian Green)
Saperavi and the unique Vardisperi Rkatsiteli (Pink Rkatsiteli)
After researching the best practices of traditional Georgian winemaking, we built our Marani (wine cellar) using Qvevri as our exclusive aging vessels.

A True Family Business
At Anapea, every stage of production involves the Tskitishvili and Darguashvili families. From strategic planning to the Rtveli (grape harvest), every family member plays a role. We believe in passing these traditions to our children, ensuring they grow up with a deep respect for the land and the craft of natural winemaking.

Our Achievements & Vision for the Future
While skeptics doubted the possibility of maintaining 25 hectares of organic vineyards, we made it a reality. Today, Anapea Village is home to 39 vine varieties, treated strictly with traditional sulfur and copper preparations—honoring the 19th-century methods of our Kakhetian ancestors.
The Future: Anapea Village & Training Center
We are currently expanding our vision by building a traditional Kakhetian village on one hectare of land. This project will feature:
Historical Architecture: Reconstructions of feudal and peasant houses.
Authentic Production: A traditional wine cellar and Saarke (schnapps stills).
Education: The Natural Qvevri Wine Training Center, a hub for preserving Georgian wine culture.
Immersion: An on-site museum where visitors can experience the authentic lifestyle of Kakheti from a century ago.
